This (and the age of religious wars) is why we separate church and state...
John Nelson Darby's 1833 misinterpretation

The "Rapture" is not biblical. Trump is not a vessel - he is a cesspool.

So the Pentagon has put 1,500 active duty troops on standby to go into Minnesota. Gov. Walz has his National Guard on stand by. If the Convicted FElon issues a Insurrection Act it will be a mess if active duty & national guard go against each other.

Breaking NYT:
The Pentagon used a secret aircraft painted to look like a civilian plane in its first boat attack, according to officials briefed on the matter.
The laws of armed conflict forbid combatants from feigning civilian status.
That is a war crime called "perfidy."
The Trump regime wants us to be scared, to stay at home, to be silent.
This is the moment for courage.

Rank and benefits aren't gifts from politicians; they are earned through sacrifice. Hegseth's move to demote @captmarkkelly.bsky.social is a clear act of political retribution to send a message to every retired service member: Fall in line, or weβll come for your pension.

Five years ago, a mob tried to stop the peaceful transfer of power. Violence was used to try to overturn an election.
Today, some want to erase the consequences.

Itβs not about drugs. If it was, Trump wouldnβt have pardoned one of the largest narco traffickers in the world last month.
Itβs about oil and regime change.
And they need a trial now to pretend that it isnβt. Especially to distract from his sinking under Epstein and skyrocketing healthcare costs.

Whatever happens now, we absolutely cannot allow Trump's refusal to seek Congressional authorization for what appears to be a large scale military attack on another country vanish from the media discussion, which already appears to be happening.
Even if Trumpβs attack on Venezuela and kidnapping of Maduro somehow led to a positive impact on Venezuelaβs future, it would not make these actions by the United States legal, moral or wise.
Normalising and legitimising this behaviour endangers all countries - democracies and dictatorships alike.

When the military is used for strikes, the American people get a say first through their representation in Congress.

Wow, SCOTUS actually blocked the Convicted FElon from using the National Guard as a police force in Chicago. They should have made it universal.

December 30! Learn from @militarylawtaskforce.okpeace.org.ap.brid.gy about International and US law as it relates to the issue of illegal orders in a military context, and much more.

Some good news, and from SCOTUS no less.
We are pleased the court agreed with us: deploying National Guard troops in this manner is unwarranted and damaging to our military. Maintaining the clear line between domestic policing and military service is essential for our institutional integrity.
"The justices are likely to immediately block similar deployments in other American cities... a rare departure from recent cases in which the conservative majority has overwhelmingly sided with Mr. Trump in preliminary tests of presidential power."
An order to turn on civilians is an illegal order.
"A general order or regulation is lawful unless it is contrary to the Constitution, the laws of the United States, or lawful superior orders.β

βLaw and orderβ didnβt survive judicial review. Sen. Tammy Duckworth cites rulings from judgesβincluding Trump appointeesβwho found no evidence to justify domestic troop deployments and reaffirmed that peaceful protest isnβt rebellion. @SenDuckworth @TammyDuckworth
βWhy should I care if criminals are killed?β I see this comment everywhere. Hereβs why it matters: these boat strikes arenβt war, theyβre law enforcement. When the government can execute people without trial, the rule of law collapses. Due process protects Americans and U.S. service members.
Trump is threatening troops who question "illegal orders." So we're giving them lawyers.

Last year, in a SCOTUS amicus brief supporting presidential immunity, AG Bondi wrote that officers are required to refuse unlawful orders, including an order to kill nonmilitary targets.
Justice Alito agreed.
Lawmakers saying the same are now being investigated.
