I don't think it can be overstated how important the new release of GeoParquet 2.0 is for the geospatial community. With geospatial iceberg we are going to get a real alternative to PostGIS with some insane new capabilities. Can't wait to see what will be built on top of it.

PostGIS is hard to beat. Have you tried out @duckdb.org spatial + geoparquet yet? I think this will emerge as a competing alternative, especially when iceberg support becomes native. It will be hard to beat at scale.
