Dill Sargent, Skyshooter, in Parawhin in festive attire, next to two new festive Christmas Front zombies. (You'll have to play the update to learn their names!)
Happy holidays - AltverZ 1.8.1 IS HERE! Small trailer coming tomorrow :)

A postcard featuring the Crimson Front plants and zombies, celebrating Christmas together. From left to right, Bombegranate, Foot Soldier Zombie, Marine Zombie, Poppin' Poppies and a Lil' Buddy are burying Dill Sargent in snow. Parawhin is in front of a Z-Tank loaded with presents, with the two imps inside wearing Santa hats, and a Peashooter Zombie creeping to the left, and Skyshooter flying to the right. The Marigold of Wisdom is encased in a block of ice with a Santa Hat, while Apple Mortar and Nurse Zombie try to thaw her out.
Merry Christmas on the Christmas Front. Have a holly jolly Crimson Feastivus. It can go by many names. β¨ π
Any Epic Quests (Holiday Quests, Volcanic Lost City etc.) in your Travel Log will go back to Level 1. Already completed Epic Quests will remain completed, so if you don't want to have to replay any levels, finish them while still on version 1.8.0!
2) FINISH ANY EPIC QUESTS THAT YOU HAVE STARTED BEFORE UPDATING! To fix a nasty Travel Log bug that randomly renders Epic Quests unplayable, we'll be forced to reset your Epic Quest progress with the 1.8.1 update.
He also told me that there's some really important things you need to know:
1) Do not play the Pinata Party on December 25th before downloading this update, as it will be replaced by a new one! That is if you even have working Parties right now.
(Mirroring this from Discord!)
A friendly G.I.F.T. Trooper landed in my living room straight through the roof to let me know that the AltverZ 1.8.1 update will be releasing on December 25, 2025 9:00 AM EST*! π
*final hour of release is a subject to change. it's gonna be christmas day after all.
A similar image to yesterday's teaser, of presents littered across a snowed-over Crimson Front lawn. A few silhouetted zombies have approached, including yesterday's tank.
HEY! I told you that gifts were waiting for you! Now they're going to grab them before you do...
A snowed-in portion of the Crimson Front lawn, with plenty of presents and a tank firing something white.
Festive gifts are waiting for you by the shore!
We're back! Wondering what we've been up to? Want to know what events we're planning in the Discord server? There's a lot to cover... check it all out in this new video: youtu.be/32iqaZ3waX8

And, of course, until the 32-bit version releases, we will continue to provide the download to 1.7.3 for 32-bit players, so nobody's left behind in the meantime.
Of course, if your phone was made in the last few years, or you play on emulator, odds are, you don't need to worry about *any* of this.
Until we release the 32-bit version, you may wish to switch to an Android emulator in the mean time (obviously, making sure your emulator's instance is 64-bit!). There is a guide for transferring save data across phone-to-emulator (and other devices) in our download guide.
If you don't know if your phone is 64-bit, it's rather simple to tell just by trying; if you have had issues installing a mod such as PvZ2: Reflourished, or if attempting to download Crimson Front yields a "not supported" error, then your phone is (likely) 32-bit.
As a heads-up from the discord (and extremely paraphrased), our plan is to release Update 1.8 tomorrow! ...However, compatibility for 32-bit (older) devices has been postponed a bit, due to internal and personal complications. The 32-bit version will still release, just in a few weeks or so!
An illustration of a slightly frosted-over triangular portal with a spiral vortex within it (much like the one in the AltverZ logo), with wind coming out of it around a rocky crimson cliffside. Various pillars with and without runes can be seen around it. The sky is a sunset, with a few stormclouds around the portal.
Crimson Front releases in a week. Check out the new title screen art that will be in 1.8, drawn by @furguston.bsky.social!
The Crimson Front Dev Showcase is premiering NOW!! youtu.be/rbVS_KqKlgM

your honor i've had so much to juggle ;_;
A Wall-Nut on the crimson front lawn, wearing a Marine Zombie's hat. Various headless zombie bodies and plant pieces can be seen around it.
Hey Wallnut, don't act silly. These hats are used by zombies!
A group photo of Jack-o-Lantern, Apple Mortar, Chomper, Kiwibeast, Banana Launcher, Olive Pit, and Torchwood, all wearing various upcoming costumes in Far Future.
Now what is THIS supposed to be?! You can't just be snapping group photos in your fancy new costumes in the Far Future while we're preparing for war! *Stop toying around!*

It is with a heavy heart we must admit: the files for our intended April Fool's event have been destroyed. Lost Media, one might say. We were close to connecting the pieces to a true Garden of Eden, and we lost track.
Instead, join us in remembrance of C. Barry.

A world map icon, featuring a dome-like building with a tree coming out of it and a wood plank patio with some lush green grass, surrounded by a bunch of red dirt that extends into the lower half of the icon. In the sky, storm clouds and a sun with a zombie's face can be seen.
Dear Passengers,
We hope you enjoyed the journal detour. The road to your destination may still take some time however - we will arrive in the spring at earliest. We are planning more ways to entertain you on the way there once we get closer.
Be patient - the views will be worth it!
