Back from North Norfolk, good couple of Days birding, managed to get Long-tailed duck and Firecrest before heading home. Also the Water rail was as ever very obliging in the ditch @rspbtitchwellsnett.bsky.social
Also managed Siskin at Lynford Arboretum on a coffee stop.

Thanks Diane, the third photo is what we call a Chaffinch here in the UK, this one is a Male, I think they are a bird that people don’t realise just how colourful they are, here’s a back view.

Today was a bit Murky on the North Norfolk coast as well as a huge temperature change, so we headed to Sculthorpe Moor reserve.
This mist started to lift by early pm, but still worth the visit.

North Norfolk on a sunny March day

Spending a couple of days up in North Norfolk, so far Buff-tailed bumblebees are in double figures, 6 Brimstone, 3 Peacock and 1 Tortoiseshell butterfly, 3 Med gulls, 1 Tawny Owl, 1 Greater Scaup and 3 Red-breasted merganser to name a few sightings.

Water levels dropping at WWT Welney now so good to get to Nelson-Lyle and Lyle hides (Wellies needed), 15 Cranes at the back of Bank Farm, counted 13 Great egret and 10 Avocet on Lady Fen.
