From what I understand, it did have some following at least in the import scene for the PC Engine. But the actual PAL TurboGrafx was pretty much invisible. Distributed through mail order by Telegames. I'm not sure if there's a definitive number of how many PAL were made available.

I wouldn't say Celceta is a bad game, I did enjoy it. But I greatly prefer Dawn of Ys over it and the SNES & PS2 Ys IV games. One thing that definitely bums me out is roughly half the soundtrack with changed. Though I think it's at least partially because of rights issues for certain songs.

I they would have pushed the hardware more on this one. I love this game but it's pretty much just a straight port that doesn't do any enhancements besides the opening cinema and a different ost And I always felt like the parallax could have been handled, with a combo of sprites and dynamic tiles

Yeah, with a soldier title I've seen some over the years that thought maybe it was related to the Star Soldier series. I'm sure at the time I would have figured it was related somehow, even with it being horizontal rather than vertical.
