Yes, allowing a person time to breathe, but also debriefs should be for the person doing the event, and not for the leader alone - don't offer an immediate debrief if intense emotions aren't welcome

I remember I saw the pharmacist before discharge, who had packed me so many meds to take home I needed a large carrier bag, along the lines of this drug does this, but if that drug works too well, this other drug stops it doing it
I know. I think I would feel very similar if it was me. I would feel it was inconsiderate, rude, and I would probably use lots of "expressive" language when back in the corridor if I found out when there

I do feel it needs witnesses, however it does feel overwhelming for me. Unlike refugees and migrants in my family, I've never experienced rapid, longterm movement and conflict in my home country, so I both have no direct lived experience but a good deal of vicarious trauma
What a delight! Not the same, but when I was preparing for my gallstones operation I wasn't allowed a takeaway. Basically any food that very temporarily cheered me up. (I won't detail what happens when you have a takeaway afterwards!)

I believe so unless local councillors are useful, or if damage is caused as a consequence of antisocial behaviour by neighbours. I know they vary how helpful they are, but some Shelter offices have drop-in clinics. Alternatively, do you have an ACORN union branch near you?

Housing ombudsman? I have a housing ombudsman case manager in my queer women's coffee craft and cake group. We often talk, between the outrageous gossip, about my former horrendous HA flat. I self-referred my current flat to the specialist mould team at my LA who were legally bound to act quickly

I have rescue cats, one of which needs high-sided cat trays due to arthritis-related issues. We have trays in both the kitchen and bathroom. Both cats came from a home where there was domestic abuse-related neglect. I never want either cat to feel limited in what they want to do.
