playing with an idea to "decompose" uis... but then the question is how to recompose them into something else
Iβve never actually used it, but maybe HyperCard?
HyperTalk is dynamic, but Iβd imagine with the restrictions of both the target audience and the times a lot was declarative and much more simple
A collection of national flags coded in CSS (using a single HTML element for each flag)
github.com/alvaromontor...
Still on iOS 17 and Sonoma (macOS 14)
Sometimes I upgrade right away, sometimes until bugfixes or certain features make it to minor versions
This will be the first time I care so little about upgrade I actually make it to the next WWDC on old versions
Iveman are PREGNANT??
We all knew Sam Altman is gay but tbh I didnβt see this wedding announcement coming
Everyone knows PRs are for CI
And tbh CI is sometimes just a long pause so you have time to think about what youβve done
also had to look, and its so fun to see these early comments on that first PR setting all the plumbing up (:

oh, very cool, never noticed!
there might be value in sharing/teaching about the specifics of react-server. one thing that helped react really click back in the day was some post that talked about the specifics of implementing a renderer
I didn't write a renderer, but it made everything concrete
IMO they were all super helpful. "JSX Over The Wire" and "What Does 'use client' Do?" resonated with me
I wonder if confusion comes from React having transcended the client, but no "react-server" or "react-build" package existing. I can imagine people think this is *external* to react in a way
I want coding AI to live in a second cursor on my editor βlike Google Docsβ doing things like this
AI on your editor's sidebar is great an all, but what I really want is ai that will see me writing a prop name and immediately destructure it from my props arg for me
my brother has been troubleshooting his PC (freezes at login screen) for almost 2 hours
second time this year a Windows update breaks his computer to be unusable. you can't disable updates.
say what you will about macOS nowadays, Snow Leopard nostalgia, etc at least it's not this
started happening all of a sudden yesterday
itβs a lambda ambigram
straight from the future, this man man is ahead of his time π
@danabra.mov on the front page of HN again with another banger nice
Tesla AI via Twitter: You drive with eyes and a brain, not a suite of sensors Our cars do the same
Cameras vs sensors is a false dichotomy
The best self driving tech was invented 200 years ago. Itβs called rails π€οΈ
I've learned a ton.
Whenever I have a crazy idea, an itch to try X, or wonder how one could do Y, I have projects where I can try them
A lot of content online about shipping, producing, sharing, growing, selling...
Nah. I build for me, my growth and enjoyment. That's fine too π
A few years ago I was using a DAW and thoughtβ I want to build a DAW
While building it felt limited by state management and thought, I want to build a state library
While building it I felt limited by the language and thought, I want to write a compiler
Haven't really finished any (lmao), BUT...
Same thing with Mexico (city, state, country) π
In our case, since it extends to the country, weβre all Mexicans (country), some are Mexicanese (state), and some Mexique (Spanish βMexiqueΓ±oβ, city)
Hubble captures the spiral galaxy NGC 2841, 46 million light-years away in Ursa Major. Its bright core, dust lanes, and blue stars stand out, but fewer emission nebulae suggest lower star formation. Fiery young stars likely cleared the remaining gas. Credit: NASA, ESA, Hubble, WFC3 Team

On the one hand, we shouldnβt compare public lights from a time when they were a luxury, vs now, when every corner of every street has one
On the other, I very much agree the quest for replaceability and profitability has destroyed the personality of our physical environment

Brief βoh fuckβ bc I forgot about the blackout, but then I remembered I donβt live in the USA anymore
Is this some sort of PTSD? Oof
I... I need this
In Mexico our main leftist party was created in 2014.
Some claimed the previous leftist party was colluded with the right, and thatβs why they were so ineffective
Wouldnβt you know it, after this new leftist party was made, the old one announced an alliance with the right to try to defeat it lmao
I think weβve forgotten the βvibeβ and values of the old web, and we only imagine web (even the open web!) through the lens of centralized/siloed applications
Iβm hopeful ideas outside these frameworks will come back with time π
