I needed a new bicycle helmet. Decided to scrape data from Virginia tech helmet rating website and compute the pareto front. For such a mundane task chatgpt is nice. Only for these tasks. I'd probably go for Specialized align II. I don't care about the design.
LLM側がアクティブラーニング(好奇心を持ってバックグラウンドで自分でニュースやウェブを見に行く)してそれをもとにゴシップを振ってくるみたいな話があると、面白いけどAGIがどーたらで騒がれそう

A screenshot of manual page named `systemd-soft-reboot.service` that reads: Such a userspace-only reboot operation permits updating or resetting the entirety of userspace with minimal downtime, as the reboot operation does not transition through: •The second phase of regular shutdown, as implemented by systemd-shutdown(8). •The third phase of regular shutdown, i.e. the return to the initrd context. •The hardware reboot operation. •The firmware initialization. •The boot loader initialization. •The kernel initialization. •The initrd initialization. However, this form of reboot comes with drawbacks as well: •The OS update remains incomplete, as the kernel is not reset and continues running. •Kernel settings (such as /proc/sys/ settings, a.k.a. "sysctl", or /sys/ settings) are not reset.
The `sudo systemctl soft-reboot` on Linux is used for performing a userspace only reboot operation. It will reboot the Linux distro without the BIOS, UEFI or the hardware having to perform a complete cold boot. As a result your system reboots in seconds but will not load a new Linux kernel.
A reminder that the 70+ year-old research discipline of AI is much bigger than genAI, much bigger than just deep learning, much bigger than Big Tech. AI includes symbolic reasoning, multi-agent systems and statistical machine learning and is used for astrophysics, renewable energy and climate models

A visualization of the generator-validator gap, where the LM likelihoods of for the generator and discriminator forms of questions are poorly correlated.
Aligning the validator and generator rankings can fix it!
One of the ways that LLMs can be inconsistent is the "generator-validator gap," where LLMs deem their own answers incorrect.
🎯 We demonstrate that ranking-based discriminator training can significantly reduce this gap, and improvements on one task often generalize to others!

A note on LCBO website saying all services unavailable while they remove American products.
Ontario's LCBO - one of the largest purchasers of alcohol in the world by volume - has shut down their website completely while they remove all American products from their ordering systems. Good luck Kentucky!
The #tradewar is on. Real-time electricity prices doubled few minutes after midnight EST in New England. 🔌💡

I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F.
18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it.
We made this website to tell our story:

This chart of federal voter preference over time is the craziest shift in public opinion I've ever seen.
Also afaik Tampa uses a lot of nuclear energy
Yes. There's a filibuster rule. Use it. Take turns reading out the January 6 reports on the floor of the Senate. Read from the DC phonebook. Have an in-depth discussion about the virtues of "Skeleton Crew". Read my novel out loud. I don't care. Do what the GOP would.

The answer (in part) = “Dutch drivers pay far more tax if they have a heavier car. The idea is to penalise those vehicles which most contribute to causing the potholes to help pay for the roads.”
