Glad she said that. I edited my comments about shallowness out of my review.

I forgot to mention that it's Women Writers Week at my old stomping grounds of @ebertvoices.bsky.social! Read all the great writing from a variety of contributors!

You don't want to muscle in on art supply distribution!
Why not?
Because you're BLICK!

What was that mailbox made out of? Gold?
Black folks: Do you remember where you were when you discovered that Bobby Caldwell looked like...well, Bobby Caldwell? (I can listen to this song 10 times in a row and not get tired of it.)

I like to think Noem was informed she was fired when she received a TikTok showing Gregory Peck's last scene in THE BOYS FROM BRAZIL.
For the afternoon crowd!
Even I liked it, and I hate Elvis!

A photo of Kadeem Hardison as his most famous character, Dwayne Wayne.
If only he was named Dwayne Wayne. It would be A Different World.
HOPPERS is a rip-off of both AVATAR and MEN IN BLACK, plus it looks more like cheap Dreamworks than Pixar. And its protagonist is so obnoxious and unlikable that I wanted to scream. At least you get to see Meryl Streep squashed by a gigantic Oscar.

Markwayne? And you White folks have the nerve to talk about Black people's names?
I'm curious to see what audiences think of Jessie Buckley's NORBIT--I mean THE BRIDE! I thought it was absolutely awful, but I also admired that its decision to go fully bonkers without care or common sense. Looks nice but it's sound and fury signifying nothing.

I don't need 'em!
The hilarious racism curing staircase in Sandra Bullock's house earned that film an extra half-star from me! I didn't hate CRASH as much as some folks (though I still panned it). If DO THE RIGHT THING hadn't already taught me not to trust White critics' reviews of films about race, CRASH would have.
The song I always listen to when I need a moment to feel chill.

Need a break? Over at the Globe, I wrote a quiz about famous Oscar firsts and Oscar records. Take it and see how well you do!

Project Hail Mary IMAX screen.
Hey girl, I'm at...
She damn sure did not.
I wasn't wrong. THE BRIDE! is Jessie Buckley's NORBIT. But unlike Ed-DEE's faux pas, it won't cost her the Oscar.
Walking out of the screening room, I thought THE BRIDE! was TURRIBLE! But at the same time, there's something about it that softened that original assessment of the movie.

Why not Timothee? Because his performance sucked, Hollywood Reporter. They wouldn't do this for a Black actor. Nobody is writing "Why not Michael B. Jordan" or "Why not Delroy Lindo."
What bullshit.
Everybody I want to know already knows the story.
Man, I hope I'm in Boston the day RFK Jr. shows up. I'm just imagining him getting pummeled with Dunkin Ice coffees while guys with thick Bahston accents cuss his ass out. I hope the Globe lets me cover this story.
I literally got my ass whipped as a 5-year old over FANTASIA, so I'll never vote for that (plus, I can't stand that movie). This Grumpy is voting for Snow White. Vote for whatever your heart tells you!
A photo of the movie "Tyler Perry's Temptation" on my TV.
That time I turned on my hotel TV in Boston and Tyler Perry's worst, most offensive movie was on it!
As a former coder, I concur.
I did not care for PIXAR's AVATAR, I mean, HOPPERS.
