Announcing extension to availability of IBM Semeru Runtime for Java 8

IBM is pleased to announce extended availability of Semeru Runtime for Java Version 8 from Nov 2026 to Dec 2030. The IBM Semeru Runtimes support page is now updated to reflect this additional four years of availability for Version 8.

I'm building the OpenJDK (17) on Fedora 41 for the first time and will make some local changes to research HHH-18901 to see exactly at which point Hibernate ORM bytecode enhancement is adding more than one Hibernate_version_annotation to enhanced mappedsuperclass during Jakarta EE testing.
