First day of this semester of Terrestrial Hydrology! Full house!!
Science may be under attack, but inclusive science always prevails.

News post about our recent paper on methane emissions in tropical wetlands, check it out!
Vital research data is disappearing in front of our eyes! β οΈ Right now, NOAA is being blocked from using satellite data to monitor sea ice loss. π
Not knowing how the Arctic is changing will not diminish its impact on our climate, it just makes us more vulnerable to the consequences.
I gave in! After students asking for it, I now made a simple figure design checklist.

Just about done with my 1st week as a Visiting Scholar at the @wmo-global.bsky.social where I will spend the summer! It has been a whirlwind of new faces and exciting projects to learn about, and Iβm looking forward to contributing to the agencyβs efforts on remote sensing of water and ecohydrology!
...that neither inundation π nor precipitation π§οΈ in the Tropics can explain the recent methane surge, suggesting that either βΌοΈ other controls of methane are responsible for the surge, or that non-hydrological controls matter more for tropical wetlands than presently understood βΌοΈ
So excited to see this paper, led by Ying Xiong, out in Nature Communications Earth & Environment!
