i really conceptualize csm part 2 as an intentional or unintentional hijacking of the narrative of a different story by the "concept" of chainsaw man, and the hijacking happens on yuko's death. the atmosphere and pacing markedly shift alongside the character focus

one thinks this is a bit, but if part 2 negates part 1, then what negates the theme of part 2? simple idea: that the rebellion in women's hearts and hands does not actually end. you don't have to be The Battle Shounen Hero, you can be an anxious wreck of a woman and still keep trying to live & fight

i guess my readings of csm are kind of weird and unorthodox because i'm well aware a lot of people are treating this in terms of denji character arc and asa character arc but like to me p2 is strongly about how nobody can develop so long as they are slotted into these roles around "Chainsaw Man"
