Focus: Trump’s crackdown on EVs hits home in the Battery Belt Roughly two dozen battery projects were announced, promising to inject tens of thousands of jobs in Republican-dominated states. By last year Americans’ waning enthusiasm for EVs led automakers to delay or scrap some projects. Now, the additional fallout from President Trump’s recent policy changes is descending on the Battery Belt.

Simply infuriating. The yearly Thayer Award provides cadets the opportunity to honor one selfless American each year who served the country with honor. This is just another travesty.

We called this a socialist bailout when Obama stake in the auto companies in exchange for rescue money amidst an actual economic crisis.

But there is no crisis.

There are no bailout funds.

This is just a plain autocratic takeover because Trump felt like the govt should have Intel.

Smile!

The American Car Industry Can’t Go On Like This Ford is taking drastic steps to compete with China’s cheap EVs. Even that might not be enough.

There are actually quite a few undocumented Russians in the US.

Anyone have any videos of ICE forcefully deporting them?

Or just the brown people?

The Senate’s version of Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill would see the General Services Administration take possession of the nearly 7,200 new postal EVs and associated infrastructure and put the assets up for auction. The proposal is unlikely to generate much revenue for the government; there is almost no private-sector interest in the mail trucks, and used EV charging equipment β€” built specifically for the Postal Service and already installed in postal facilities β€” generally cannot be resold.

β€œThe funds realized by auctioning the vehicles and infrastructure would be negligible. Much of infrastructure is literally buried under parking lots, and there is no market for used charging equipment,” Peter Pastre, the Postal Service’s vice president for government relations and public policy, wrote to senators this month.

πŸ‘€ Scoop: Trump and Republicans want USPS to sell off its brand new EVs and chargers.

That would mean literally **ripping up post office parking lots** to auction off assets with no private-sector value.

It’s buried in the Senate’s β€œOne Big Beautiful Bill.”

A Disillusioned Musk, Distanced From Trump, Says He’s Exiting Washington
