All eyes on eyes: Using FlexiConc to find patterns in concordances Authors: RC21 team (Nathan Dykes, Stephanie Evert, Michaela Mahlberg, Alexander Piperski) Published: 09 March 2026 Making sense of a large concordance is a challenging analytical task.

A big part of #RC21 has been fiction. In our new blog post, we use Flexiconc to examine "eyes" in the nonfiction sections of the #BNC.

For today's World Book Day, @textandlanguagelab.bsky.social are giving you a taste of all the books to explore on www.clic-ficiton.com.

Using the FlexiConc tab developed by RC21 gives you even more options to see how books were described in 19th century literature.

Merry Christmas from the RC21 team!

Stay tuned for updates in the first few months of the new year. In the meantime, our analysis tree offers a reusable and environmentally friendly literary alternative to the biological version.

Participants learned a great deal by using a powerful digital tool like Clic to analyze #gender in #19th-century #fiction with concordance analysis, all run by Dr. Nathan Dykes @nfdykes.bsky.social.

We wouldn't want to pick favourites among #RC21 workshops, but if we did, the #DHSS2025 participants would be tough to beat.

It was great to see such lively discussions during a hands-on concordance analysis exercise that didn't need anything more than a PDF reader.
