We've been in malaysia for a couple weeks and all the cats in the train station are so friendly and social. It's such a delight

get on that sailing!!!!!
I am just hoping my laptop and desktop never break because it'll be really. really expensive to replace.
A part of that is a lower cost of living like my monthly wages are about 1200-1500 USD (actual), but it feels like it is more like 3500-4000 USD because rent and food are so much damn cheaper here.
Rode 5 minutes in a van and I feel like throwing up. Started feeling decent after 4 hours. One elevator ride is enough to set me right back to feeling like vomiting like goddddddd whhhyyyy
Being easily prone to motion sickness from elevators and cars has to be one of THE worst debuffs a player character can have in a game like DAMN.
Yeah, honestly that's how long I was expecting them to last as well. They were about 15$ to get done downstairs in our building and they are the sturdiest nails i've ever had for sure. I'm going to have to get rid of them just because my nails are getting too long (unquantifiably priviledged)
WHY RISK BREAKING A NAIL!
It's nutty how long my nails have lasted with not having to drive or do car work myself to save money. Got my nails done for Chinese new year and they're still immaculate. That was over a month ago!!! Unbelievable!!!
Experiencing post Pokemon game completion high. I didn't sully myself into trying to complete "post game" activities this time either. Just ended things as I should after elite four βΊοΈ
Thank you Pokemon Quetzal that was so much fun.
be the goon. embrace the goon.
People deserve to have the autonomy to decide what membership they want to pay for. For just osrs, rs3, or both.
Just because some people can't make up their minds doesn't mean we all should suffer. It's really simple.
Yeah. It feels kinda gross the way windows is just doing *who knows what* in the background all the time, fouling up the system.
The only times I hear my laptop fans now are when I have a video project I'm rendering in kdenlive or after an hour or so of playing RuneScape.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce an open source multivideo player that allows you to play as many videos side by side top bottom as your hardware can handle
Oh you like to goon?
Like installing Linux completely deleted the idea that we needed another new computer from our thoughts. It's such a pleasant computer to use now! The battery lasts quite a bit longer too now.
My partner's 7 or so year old laptop would constantly have it's fans at max even while sleeping with no apps open. It would get so hot. It'd throttle, just such a mess. So slow and so unresponsive.
After putting KDE fedora on it, it runs quiet, cool, and reliably. Just a gargantuan difference.
On the steam deck when connected to a tv there's one that's so zoomed in the screen is unusable lol. I feel it was like "remember this display configuration" or something like that that fixed it for me.
Yeah that's deeply unintuitive imo. But it was helpful getting my feet rooted in the Thai calendar hahaha.
I don't use the command line much, I'm getting much more comfortable with it these days but i definitely didn't fix it in the command line. But perhaps there is an easier way to do it there.
This is really kind to say, I feel similarly!!! I enjoy our chats here and your enthusiastic/sincere energy for your hobbies as well.
Scaling being off is strange though. I had a scaling issue a couple times on the steam deck. I can't remember how I fixed it but I did fix it, but I think it was just opening up the display settings and pressing*something* (least helpful most ambiguous help ever)
Oh interesting. Yeah. When we leave Firefox open full screen and my partners computer sleeps, when we resume, Firefox full screen becomes "invisible". I end up having to do some ?????? To make it go back to normal, like a ctrl+ w to close the invisible full screen tab OR SOMETHING.
Forgot how to do*
I'm laughing because my system like. Information is in malay right now because we're malaysia, clock, month, etc. Language is still English everywhere except for the date lol.
I remember having the issue when I first setup my laptop in Thailand, it was a simple fix that I forgot good to do sinceπ
Ah I see. It's often a little guess which screen the login information will show up on. I'm wondering if it's based on which screen was active last.
I like timeshift quite a lot. It's pretty simple, reliable, and runs like a clock.
If anything goes wrong it's such an absolute pain in the ass to wait for somebody else to fix it.
I feel like that's kind of the nature of KDE. Focusing more on functionality than aesthetics, but it seems they have been trying to improve the aesthetics and polish recently.
Do you have a backup solution like deja dupes or timeshift running?
And I'd personally avoid immutable distros...
A 50 or 60$ a year subscription for one game should exist in my opinion. Many don't play RS3.
Another example, it doesn't matter if it's "insanely good value" if I'm paying for a 10GB/s internet connection for only 100$ a month if I only send emails on my computer.
I disagree strongly. This is the basics of how basically any industry justified taking more money from you. "Look at these 30,000 features on this car that make it 5000-15000$ more expensive" but with a car, there's an option for a cheaper model without all that. RuneScape/osrs does not have this.
(I'm not super knowledgeable but if there's any help you need or second opinions, recommendations etc, I'd be happy to offer them!)
Random, but how is your Linux install going? You were on Kubuntu?
