I read multiple books. I do this unless one completely engulfs me, then Iβll just read and finish that one.

My January reads. The highlights being The Streets of Laredo and 11/22/63. Have You read any of these, and if so, what did you think?

Iβve always preferred characters to walk around aimlessly anywayβ¦
Plot is overrated in storytelling. π€£
Reading: The Streets of Laredo.
Watching: 11/22/63
Me and my wife both are loving 11/22/63. Couple reading rarely happens in our house sadly, but this book has us both engaged.
Congrats on the baby! I listen to a ton of audiobooks while walking and doing chores around the farm. Itβs not always easy to find the time to sit down and read even without a baby (mine are 25, 7, and 5).
Currently listening to The Eye of the Bedlam Bride and reading 11/22/63 by King.
Are you reading or listening? I read 80% of the first book and then kept hearing how amazing the audiobooks were and switched to listening. I then decided I needed to own these in hardcovers s as wellβ¦so this series has a hold of me lol
I always hesitate to go that far, but I think I agree with you. Iβll say itβs the best series Iβve read over 5 books (currently reading book 6). I have a lot of books I love more, and even a couple of trilogies I hold higher due to when I read them, what they led to, etc..But DCC is pure fun.
Bluesky must be taking off! Just had my first sexbot follow!
Iβve heard listening to it is the way to go. Kinda the same with the Dungeon Crawler Carl books (which I have listened to since the first book).
Curious as to your thoughts on Project Hail Mary. I loved the ending and the friendship. I had a really hard time with the first 70% of the book though. My eyes glaze over with real science pretty quicklyβ¦. fake science even quicker.
Iβm currently reading Eye of the Bedlam Bride, Iβll catch up!
In 2025, the only reading goal I have is reading the βotherβ books in the Lonesome Dove series. Lonesome Dove being the best book I read in 2024.
I have not read that yet.
Cheers is brilliant.
With these likes, I canβt recommend The Gentlemen Bastard and Dungeon Crawler Carl series enough for you.
The entire series is just plain ol fun. It definitely has some heart in the series as well, but fun is the best way to describe it. Also maybe hilarious?
Dungeon Crawler Carl.

I loved the ending and friendship in Project Hail Mary, but all the science, and fake science at that, I struggled with.
Iβm on book 6. Catch up!
Easily the most fun Iβve ever had with a series over 5 books. Maybe not the best thing Iβve ever read, but itβs consistently entertaining (which is kinda the point).
The whole series is just a ton of fun. Itβs very easy to binge.
I think I may have to revisit An 8-bit Christmas this year!
The only Christmas movie Iβve watched so far is The Santa Clause.
I wish I could agree. Iβve never enjoyed the movie but Iβm very happy you do!
No, it was illegal formation as explained by the NFL later.
You mean the illegal formation call on the Raiders? Cause thatβs a different penalty
My Jeff Lemire cover collection continues to grow. Pretty much all I collect in floppies anymore.

This week for me:
1. Finish Dungeon Crawler Carl: The Gate of the Feral Gods.
2. Catch up on Ghosts and the new Matlock.
3. Continue Project Hail Mary with at least a chapter a day goal (hasnβt been my favorite read so far (unpopular I know)).
4. Be better than I was last week.
Thatβs the best way. Occasionally I follow back immediately. Itβs never about numbers (or shouldnβt be), itβs about mutual interests and healthy discussion.
Ascender is fantastic. Enjoy!
