I spent most of the last 2 hours writing down setting stuff for my unnamed vampire game, and I had almost forgotten how good writing feels.

In my vampire game (assuming I finish it) will have vampires as more corpse-like beings (think nosferatu) with a dreadful aura. It'll be more about surviving as a vampire in a world that wants you dead and is actively hostile towards you.
It'll be sure to include angry mobs

This can simplify weapons while also allowing for different uses and matter of choice (which weapon to choose).
Weapon groups I have in mind are cutting, stabbing, and bashing weapons.
A power might for example allow bashing weapons to create a shockwave by striking the ground, but has no effect on cutting or stabbing weapons.
Some weapons can fit 2 groups, which offers broader use of powers.

OK, so I think I will split weapons into 3 general groups that have no mechanical differences except that some powers may affect them differently or not at all.
But then I might go down to 2 groups or up to 5 🤷♂️

The setting I have in mind for my unnamed vampire game is called the Mortlands (I may have to google it to be sure). It is, essentially, a dark world of doom and gloom, with some early firearms but largely just swords, bows, and spears.

For my vamp game, I was planning on giving weapons certain traits that would make them different from other weapons, so swords and axes (for example) would be somewhat different...
But now I'm thinking I should have all weapons functionally the same (bonus dmg) 🤷♂️

I'm thinking of including Bloodlines as a sort of character starting points; loadouts, if you will.
There will be 6 Bloodlines to start with: Warrior, Sage, Tyrant, Predator, Monster, and Manipulator. Each determins your starting traits and Powers, but then you can go any direction 👍
