Never get bored to observe this special primate endemic to the Southern part of Sumatra. We are very lucky to see this colorful adult male Mitred Leaf Monkey (Presbytis melalophos) who enjoys eating ripe Tarap Fruits ( Artocarpus odoratissimus )

In addition to applied statistics, I have another repository on #DataVisualization: "quick data vis" (github.com/cxli233/Quic...). It used to be under "Online_R_learning" but now it has its own repository on GitHub. I have used this content to teach 1st year grad students for 3 years.
A side view of a salamander fills the image from left to right. The tail is at the right, the body pointing to the left, but the front third of the sally curves back to the right, with the face angled towards the camera. The overall color of the sally is dark gray with an overlay of very tiny light gray dots. The limbs are the same color, along with streaky blotches of a coppery orange. The tail has the same background color, but also has many irregular blotches, whitish and with some coppery orange hues here and there. The effect makes the tail resemble a lichen-spotted branch. The eyes are large and bulging from the head, and are completely black.

Look at those Ceropegia ampliata flowers! Yep those are flowers, this shape is typical for this genus. Inside of the tube there're hairs growing upside down, so that once an insect gets in, it has to struggle to get out, during the struggling the flower gets pollinated. #iamabotanist #plantjoy 🧪🌾🌸

The photo is taken from distance, but their narrow heads and necks can be seen sticking up from their oval shells. Between the line of turtles and the far bank there is a single turtle basking on a small branch. Perhaps there is no more room on the log, or maybe this single turtle wants some alone time.
