It has been a while since I have guffawed out loud watching a film! Listers vacillates between goofiness and incredible footage of birds. Have a watch!

Who knew I wanted to go to Tokyo, specifically Shinjuku?! An entomological bar, so cool.
Iβve lost count how many times Iβve seen the Bills (or Bill Hilly Band) Love love them and they are at Butchart Gardens tomorrow night (17 July) yay!! youtu.be/RvHDlEZphJs?...
An art booth full of bug art! Silk scarves and shawls, paintings, linocuts, other clothing with 3 artists setting up.
A few years ago the Entomology Societies of Canada, BC and America held a conference in Vancouver,BC on the science/art theme. It was fantastic for biologists (me) and my artistic family that created amazing bug art for a booth. Such an awesome experience for all!
A wet American Robin giving me the side eye.
A bathing splashy Dark-eyed Junco

A wool, hooked rug that depicts a blue darner (dragonfly) sitting on a patch of mud. The artwork was done by Connie Johnson.
I am in awe- this darner is a hooked rug! My sister, Connie Johnson is just finishing it off (edging).

A table filled with glasses bottles of liquor from Canada (gin from Newfoundland distillery, EquineOx vodka from Alberta, maple syrup flavoured whiskey, Rootside bitters) and a notebook.
Tonightβs testing of potential s wonβt be useful to your US based audience! Sorry!
Losing the Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS) would be an act of monumental neglect.
I made a video about whatβs at risk, and how orgs like @amlibraryassoc.bsky.social and the American Alliance of Museums need us to help advocate for these critical places.
youtu.be/fYLC-KWy-Ks?...
To my Canadian colleagues: you should know that a key component of what the US is doing right now involves purging scientists & research programs for ideological impurity & (illegally) reclaiming their funds.
If you donβt want a repeat of what happened down south here in Canada, PP is not your guy
So so so fun. Disco Snails for all!!
DYK that the SeaTube lets you watch and search underwater videos recorded by remotely operated vehicles and seafloor cameras? There is some fabulous footage of coral forests on the Bowie Seamount. Image is example from Ocean Networks Canada SeaTube website data.oceannetworks.ca/SeaTube
Oops. Viola praemorsa!
Ahhh-okay!
Iβve made a few fun combinations with SortilΓ¨ge, a Quebec based maple syrup/Canadian whiskey blend. A martini with this and a Canadian vodka is yum. As are drinks using this and cream. A group of us are doing an Elbows Up Cocktail/Tapas challenge this weekend. There will be more ideas! π¨π¦
Tried another @hollyfrey.bsky.social Killer Cocktail! All in the name of prepping for a week of cocktail loving artists, Iβm working my way through art heists. βBFFβ was very calming and a much easier story to tell than βTamiβs Lamentβ!

A trail through a Garry Oak Forest with a rope fence and a sign requesting people to stay on the trail to avoid trampling a violet and an asterβboth of which are rare.
Thanks to the CRD for adding information and sort of barriers for keeping people from trampling the Viola primorsa at Bear Hill Regional Park.
YOU DID IT! 517 acres of rare grasslands near Juniper Ridge has been protected forever, thanks to an extraordinary community effort.
You assume we are young enough here to remember!!

Four fuzzy moth faces. Mostly tans, grey and browns and some with fern like antennas. One reminds me of a bison with white horns.
This old compilation of a few fuzzy moth faces is prompting me to get the lights out! The time is nigh.
