Love Indigo Book and ALWD, both of which are exponentially easier to use and don’t gatekeep!
And those abbreviations will sometimes be intuitive, but don’t get too comfortable because half the time they won’t be. Also, just when you get used to abbreviations using periods, they’ll throw in apostrophes to mix it up.
It has always annoyed me that the BB is intentionally vague and unclear.

Law friends—I must be the dumbest researcher known to man, but what Bluebook rule specifies CA4 through CA11 as 4th, 5th, etc.? R6.1 deals with abbreviations and references T7 for court names, but those COAs aren’t listed in T7. Obviously these are the abbreviations, but what rule says that?!?
I’ve enjoyed almost every Untold I’ve watched. This one is good but light on coverage of the $8 million TANF scandal. It’s there, but barely.

I should add that there are also plenty of people who are gender non conforming and this gives them no option. Bad all around for several reasons.
I hate honorifics anyway and they are especially unnecessary to order my son’s kindergarten supplies. It’s bad enough women are labeled based sorely on our status vis-a-vis men, but giving the only option as MRS just really grinds my gears.

In planning for Mother’s Day, consider whether the plan will actually create more work for the mother you’re honoring. Many moms would prefer a break from household & childcare duties than a fancy brunch that they have to get everyone ready for & to or hosting others, which creates even more work. 🩷
