Thanks. It really is tough all round and spring of year 10 isn't a great time for this at all

Another stressful week with 15yo who still isn't liking school much, but I did find my eldest's sewing box with about 50 girlguiding badges in whilst unpacking so shiraz and pizza to celebrate! #confinedcocktails
Grateful for small mercies? Hugs x
Actually was really nice. Sat between a lovely alumnus in his 80s who was so pleased to be there & historian with good stories, opposite 2 more interesting people, and saw more acquaintances during coffee. Then provided emergency international womens day display for tonight (yay for pop up banners)
Today is the annual posh lunchtime work thing. Am currently babysitting waiters who are poring champagne. Expect this will be the highlight tbh
Not bragging but I just got an 8 in Countdown (glaciers)
On a nice glass of shiraz with cat and season 2 of Bridgerton. Been a busy half term doing bits for new house and inviting friends over for the first time. #confinedcocktails
Chilly #UnconfinedWalks to post a parcel. Saw a mile post, fire hooks which commemorate a huge fire which burnt down all the thatched cottages in the village in mid 19c and a pretty brick wall
15yo went bowling with friends for a birthday. Bowling booked at 3.30pm but she had to leave home at 11am due to buses (met at bowling alley and I was working). She has just been dropped home and not been fed. Not impressed- now cooking her pasta...
There may have been guidance...
Thank you it was a Mothers Day present many moons ago!
Hope you feel better soon! Peach schnapps and lemonade in front of my newly put up pan shelf tonight whilst youngest assembles a microwave stand #ConfinedCocktails
Rashly invited people over tomorrow. Now regretting as I've been out every night this week bar last night, plus working. Out again tonight so going to be an early start tidying tomorrow...
Functional #UnconfinedWalks to pick up and drop off parcels. Too soggy for many pics but glad I didnt take the car
The crocuses look amazing
Still raining here....
Feeling old tonight - eldest is at the Mika gig in London with her friend, youngest is doing her nails (so she can show them off at school tomorrow before half term). I've cooked tea, done dishes and am now in pjs...
Highlight of my week was coming across this copy of the Evening Post from 1728. Look how tiny it is! Also had an edition from 1793 which is literally 4x the size...
We got an email about a cake sale on friday today too... was equally unimpressed
Well I finished the book and went to the book club... thankfully another woman disliked it as much as me as there were 2 who loved it! Very weird
Still going but nearly finished (book club is tomorrow night). Definitely would not recommend. None of the characters are likeable, the plot too far fetched and too many minor errors (dating inconsistencies and language). Interested to see what the other women think...
Wilkos and Woolworths used to be brilliant for random things. There are often brilliant hardware shops in smaller towns (and I will make special trips to these shops). It can take months to source things though...
These cows on the landing however...
Short #UnconfinedWalks round the block. This hedge is next level (as my teens would say) - the height, shaping and spacing is so impressive
Flowery wallpaper
I love this wallpaper so much. Easy to match up, slightly textured and so pretty
Sat with cat and winter olympics. We've nearly finished wallpapering kitchen and my dad came up to fix the shower and (optimistically) put the new washing line up. Slow progress
Those were worth getting soggy for! So pretty. We saw daffodils out today on a trip to town
I'm really sorry to hear all that. My go to when i can't sleep is chain drinking chamomile tea but it doesnt help if I wake up in the middle of the night! If you can bear the weather then freah air might help though?
Any shops within walking distance to help encourage? At least spring bulbs are emerging...
Damp and drizzly? Not very inviting...
