You just know Derosa saw that 9 pitch AB and was like "oh yeah I'm starting Turang the rest of the tournament"
Idk, it being spring training can't be a non-factor here. There are certainly players who just go 85% and work on shapes/feel more than anything.
We'll see when real competition comes around. But nobody is putting nails in the coffin here haha
It's not. He could certainly be taking it easy in the spring.
But that's the only hope ๐
I have been searching too, lol. If he's back to AAA 4S numbers (94.2, 15.1"IVB, 7.6"HB, 42deg arm angle, 7.0' ext), you can tell yourself he's a bit Mitch Keller-esque, with a bit more extension.
Stuff+ gave Mitch Keller's 4S an 87 last year โน๏ธ
Lmao I choked on my drink with this one. Yes. Sadly.
I think I need to go back to watching the WBC. This game is requiring a few too many "it's only spring training"s from me
(you mentioned velo further down in the thread, I now see)
Does feel like he's holding back a bit velo-wise. Remember him being more 94-96 last year, although that doesn't "fix it".
But yeah they've leaned heavy sinker thus far in Spring and that feels correct at this point.
I think we need a new name for this Trey Gibson sweeper ๐๐
O'Neil Cruz against not-MLB pitching is a spectacle for the ages.
Neatly*
Lol, I am just throwing out thoughts and haven't yet tied them nearly into a conclusion.
But yeah I suppose that's right. Maybe like a Wolfram option feels more expendable to them than a Nunez/Foster option?
Maybe the impetus for keeping Kowar is his DFA is one option you don't have to use in the first ~month though (referring to max of 5 times being optioned per year), and keeps some flexibility for later in the year.
I find myself going further this direction, that 6-man the move. But, I think when you do that, you have even *more* need for a flexible/optionable spot in the pen so you can bring up a fresh arm as needed.
Our back three are also just not the types that have stuff that'll play up in the pen.
Velo has been better in other spring outings but yeah, movement has certainly taken a hit even when velo is there
Aw happy for Gunnar. Got his moment.
TRAYCE THOMPSON
That's so cool
Ecstatic for Lucas Ramirez lmao
"he is the perfect manager for this situation"
yeah, okay ๐
Bregman hitting before Raleigh ๐ญ๐
Harper is not even the best Phillies hitter on this team.
Lmao instant bomb yikes I'm laughing a little bit now
I genuinely don't get how somebody looks at this roster and comes out with Harper hitting second and Gunnar on the bench and yeah. I can already tell this is how I'll be all game:
๐๐
Gonna need to drop that arm angle another 20deg to make that work
Lol literally!!!! And he has earned it for sure
