This raises some important questions: 1. Should AI search engines always warn users about risks of error, or is the absence of a disclaimer a signal of misplaced confidence? 2. Does wording like “double-check it” actually empower users, or shift responsibility away from platforms?

These disclaimers vary in tone, scope, and even presence. Some emphasise fallibility (“may include mistakes”), others stress verification (“double-check it”), and some simply flag the origin (“generated with AI”). Perplexity, meanwhile, opts for silence.
