At some point, someone needs to be paid real money for bank notes and utilities. Trump granting eleventy billion dollars to OpenAI for "reasons" doesn't change those realities...though the shell game can keep the ruse going for a long time.

I don't game anymore (beyond old stuff that can be emulated on something the size of a quarter) so I stick with laptops now... But I do have a Synology 4-bay NAS that I share with a small group, and do setup/maintain that.
I found your comment on "adding manpower makes a late project later" being "credo" interesting, as my experience has been that it continues to be the "answer" when consulting/staff aug is involved, but never on the FTE side; which I suppose is an accounting trick...
