Maybe as its archdemon, maybe not, but know this: it could have been you.” There was a clarity found in the beast’s husk that groaned before her; she was above this. A missed condemnation carved into her skin and a voice in her mind. Better than a death sentence deferred, and even still, she had tenacity. Marian pulled magic from herself before that she thought above her; thermal, gravity, and now what? What lies beyond the pain? What might she beat out of the blight? Now that was a thought– Exhilarating. “I won’t be subdued.” She said, the spread of her magic inking into her arm, burning and challenging. “I should think not,” Flemeth replied with a smile. “Now, let’s get to work.”
