The Right Wing is motivated by an arrested development where they become dependent on authoritarian adults to rule over them and then, in adulthood, are desperate to find dictators to step in to replace those adults and allow them the freedom of unfreedom and to functionally remain children.

Every generation currently voting (except maybe the zoomers) have an expectation of comfort and progress. No government will be able to deliver that in the short term, and trying to do it for the long term means more short term discomfort not less.
