This is a really good piece on disinformation. Well worth your time.
Plenty of circumstantial evidence to support that, including the recent “cracks in Ukrainian politics” articles that have cropped up.
The best thing about it is the value from both big data scraping research as well as the qualitative work on shifts in narratives.
It’s an interesting question. Because it cuts across research fields it’s always vulnerable. But by the same token, being captured by an established approach (eg pol sci, digital media) will likely constrain it as an area of enquiry.
