Foraging Observations: Novel Trophic Interactions Between the Andean Gull (Chroicocephalus serrranus) and Endangered Vertebrates of Lake Titicaca We show that the Andean gull predates on both the Titicaca Grebe and the Titicaca Giant Frog. Both these species are critically endangered, and it was unknown that they had natural predators before t...

Turns out the Andean Gull engages in kleptoparasitism and predates on Titicaca Grebe chicks and on the Titicaca Giant Frog

One of the coolest ichthyology discoveries I’ve heard about in a while. Large pregnant female livebearers with male reproductive organs found in the wild. Goes to show how fluid sex and sexual traits can be.

The Geographical Variation of Colour Change in the Arabian Killifish (Aphaniops dispar Sensu Lato) From Freshwater and Marine Ecosystems Animals that live in a wide range of environments possess plastic traits such as colour change, but most research has only looked at this within single populations. Happy to share my second paper from my PhD. This study explores a fascinating aspect of the evolutionary and behavioural ecology of the Arabian killifish (Aphaniops dispar): colour change and camouflage.
