40 whole chapters are done and I am finally allowing my self to imagine this story as a finished book. I estimate there will be 7-10 more chapters, but how incredible that the ending to this years-long effort is closer than ever?
According to my (probably misapplied) math, this next draft is 3/4 of the way done. The first half is written and the second half generally has a mixture of thorough outlines and written sections that need to be edited or reorganized. #writingcommunity #workinprogress
*waking up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat* that was Patrick Stump??
Ten toes down, Dan Smith Will Teach You Guitar is an NYC cryptid
I kind of want to reread something for comfort and possibly sit in my feelings for a bit, so currently I’m thinking about either House on the Cerulean Sea or Red White and Royal Blue.
I finished reading Firekeeper’s Daughter, and…what do I read now? Do I reach for something silly and light? Or do I pick a book that’s also layered, introspective, and complex? Just…how do I go on?
In Chinese folklore, the Moon Festival is tied to the equinox. Families gather to eat mooncakes, honoring Chang’e, the moon goddess, who still gazes down in her silver solitude. #FairyTaleTuesday

Finding out that there’s no love triangle:
This exchange sent me (I really forgot for a moment)
Also her simping over a character:
A collection of reactions my SIL has sent me while reading the first draft of my book:
Fairy tales sometimes arm heroines with brooms instead of swords. In German stories, a girl may ride one, sweep with one, or trick spirits using one. Domestic tools become magical weapons in disguise. #MythologyMonday
I don’t have headcannons for who would play the characters in my book if it were made into a film but I do have headcannons for who would be on the soundtrack:
Breabach, of course
Phoebe Bridgers
MUNA (esp. acoustic versions omg)
Julie Fowlis
Ethel Cain
Rose Betts

I WROTE THAT BOOK.

Failing in the sisyphean task of not losing my goddamn mind today
113,000 words, 379 pages, and 30 chapters thus far. This is my longest creative writing project to date, and we are moving things along!
We hit the 100k word milestone babyyyy

www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8rtaKCc/ this was a requested topic so I’m turning this into a short series about about ghosts, legends, folklore, and community.
I experienced a friend do energy healing on me for the first time. Very cool, very fascinating. But I feel a bit scrubbed raw. It may be a bubble bath kind of night.
