That's because the people occupying the White House aren't truly American, as in they don't support American ideals and the US Constitution.

I'm sorry, but that's not good enough to save the republic. The Republican Party is the single most destructive force in modern American history. It needs more than a thumping--it needs to suffer such a catastrophic loss as to render it dead.

Please excuse these trollish comments from this "American." It is true to say that any free nation should look upon America's fragmented info space fomenting extremism and say, "There by the grace of God go I," but no American should be lecturing anyone about gun safety.

I remember a while ago when a number of benighted Americans would say, "The US government should be run like a business!" and not consider the fact that businesses aren't democracies. They have no interest in the human condition or welfare. And here we see what that looks like. And it isn't pretty.

Here's the thing: This is the part of America resisting--fighting back. But unless you're plugged into political social media, chances are that you'll never see this. You'll never know that the former president spoke these words. For all you know, it's all fascism and fire in the US.

After this disgusting era is over, America, in order to get right once more with the world, must seek accountability for the domestic actors who attacked its constitutional government and its institutions. The only firm way to do that, given the scope of these crimes, is through a tribunal.

Social media promote black and white, uncritical thinking that reduces complex topics down to false choices of either "this" or "that." We need to rise above that and start identifying the nuance in the topics we discuss, particularly ones that address the human condition.

I love how we're anointing the current moment as an entirely new era of foreign policy when really the truth is that: The President of the United States is acting out on sociopathic impulses and is in mental decline. In other words, it's not a new era, it's just insanity at work.

1. It's going to last in some capacity well past September.

2. It's going to end only through a terrible "peace deal" that continues the current theocratic regime.

3. Trump is going to continue to lie about it as he mentally declines.

4. All of this is nuts.
