Not sure about "normal", but sometimes I get jumpscared at the shop by a book I didn't read until remembering I spent hours looking at the cover XD
I keep a spreadsheet with the books, their data and the different things each one needed like cover, headers, illustration, adaptations, whatever (it started as a way to keep track but now it helps me when I feel I'm not productive enough)
