I guess I should post here sometimes. Happy New Year's friendsβ¨
A dream journal comic for #makeaterriblecomicday2025 that accidentally turned out pretty okay.

Omg the subtitles kept spelling it "Lol" and I thought it MUST have been a transcription error! "Lol", can you imagine what having that name must be like...
3.9 in North Hollywood!
Literally the "You use big words, what are you, a NERD?" mindset but writ large, with broader consequences π«
This also seems to chalk up to A. A continued lack of public understanding (or... publisher acknowledgment) of what it actually takes to make comics and B. A broader cultural sense that writing is a Job For Adults and drawing is a Hobby For Kids
Three panel journal comic. Panel 1: I'm laying out a clean blanket. My dog asks me what I did, I reply that I've cleaned it. Panel 2: my dog says "Robbed of my grand stink! Criminal." Panel 3: he says "I can fix this" as he rolls around and farts.
A little #gentlecomicshabit journal comic, living that good dog stink life
Awoooooo π»πΊ
Like, I remember seeing it and thinking "Who turned up the saturation on this bird?". They're so blue! But yeah, turns out the Western Bluebird is one of our native birds.
We've got bluebirds in Burbank! I grew up 30 minutes from here and always saw bluejays but had never seen a bluebird in the wild. I first noticed them in our local park a couple years back and now I see them every spring!
A western bluebird pitched in a tree against the blue sky

Once again, why I hate that fucking poem.
They come for anybody, we show up for anybody, itβs actually much simpler.
Welp.
Making a choice that's bad for you because it will also be bad for someone you don't like is ugly. For many Americans, it is also inconceivable to make a choice that benefits someone else more than oneself. That selfish individualism is our undoing.

France & Finland already passed the threshold of signatures, so if you are from an other EU country your participation is really valuable.
[adds this to my daily background radiation of anxiety]
SO many of us are sad and mad and angry. So many of us didn't ask for this, and so many of us can't just...leave.

A photo of my French bulldog with a cute goofy smile, as a consolation prize.
My head hurts and my tummy hurts so I'm drawing today's hourly comics tomorrow. I'm ungovernable, just truly lawless.
(LOL wow I'm sorry this format is actually kinda bad, I'll do better this year...or will I???π§)
I took notes on the day and rough pencilled these a year ago, then VERY hastily drew about 85% of it in the last 48 hours. I don't know that it's a good way to live, but who am I to argue with results π€‘
I finished drawing LAST year's Hourly Comic Day comic before midnight of THIS year's HCD so by the ancient laws it still counts and I'm sharing it here. #HourlyComicDay2024
LADS! Lads. In this literal 11th hour I am pleased to announce that I finished drawing last year's Hourly Comic Day comic. Posting shortly.
Bro.
H... handsome β¨
Fellow phone anxious person here, this is super good advice for calling your reps! (Although for what it's worth the one time I did reach an actual person they were very nice)

To be clear, that's not to say that there aren't very real things that people can and should be furious about. But I couldn't possibly miss niche industry drama less; tracing back threads to figure out which artist I've never heard of everyone is the maddest they've ever been at for a whole 24 hours
Instagram was a better balance for a while, but that's a sinking ship. It's been nice collecting a little pile of familiar names and faces here, but I might not engage the same way I used to. We'll see, we'll see.
I went dark on Twitter long before it broke completely bad. The noise got to me: it felt like walking into a crowded party and attempting to join a million conversations in the middle. Also, almost everyone was pissed about something, and it was usually some incredibly transient drama.
