My first blog name / public handle was social upheaval. @wellesleycollege.bsky.social I studied Peace & Justice. Younger me was sure we needed nonviolent paradigm shifts focusing on human flourishing. Now I’d settle for upholding democratic values & a real check on presidential power.

I became a rabbi 1.5 years ago. I’m 45 & didn’t think my primary service to my community would be standing up for public school kids getting harassed with anti-Jew hate. The world is scary & the way post-Shoah Jews were taught Judaism wasn’t the best. The people Israel live! Am Yisrael Chai!
Shouldn’t this new union fight be about our right to live without debilitating illness, in addition to the rest of labor grievances? I’m deeply frustrated that we humans are being sacrificed on the altar of profit.
Continuing to be Covid cautious has caused family members to stop talking to me. It’s so painful that I’ve started having nightmares my husband is leaving. In related news, fibromyalgia has really altered how I use my spare time. Protect yourself. Covid is airborne.
It’s the 4th day of the Hebrew month of Elul. Time of Cheshbon HaNefesh, accounting of the soul. I pray the CDC & public health officials remember masks work, saving a life saves a world, & COVID is airborne. My Light, My Salvation strengthens my commitment to Truth.
