I made a poll on tumblr about a Bug BL Jam, and while it looks like the majority of people would only be interested in seeing what might be made for the jam, a decent chunk looks like they would be interested in contributing something! It'll run for a week so I'll withhold any decisions ofc.

The truth is deep in my heart I want to run a Bug Yaoi jam and get other people to make bug BL with me but I feel like that’s such a niche theme tha no one would be interested 😔

I guess I'll mull it over a bit before fully deciding.

it's better to focus on shorter projects, because there's not always a guarantee that putting a bunch of time and effort into a longer project will pay off, if less people see it and play it. It's easier to deal with the sting of rejection for smaller projects than for something I poured a lot into.

I know that working on my bigger projects will feel rewarding in the long run, but I also know myself, and that if I spend a bunch of time working on them but don't have something to share I will get stressed. And I keep thinking about something a creator I admire said, about how sometimes-

Do I want to work on a longer project and potentially have nothing I can show/share for it when I run out of steam and have to take a break, or do I want to focus on a smaller project, putting off those longer projects but having something to show for my efforts sooner.

Since I was just working in RPG Maker, working on Mataro might be a smooth transition. But I also feel like I want to work in Renpy again, which is why I'm drawn to the VN options. The thing that's really making it hard for me decide though is time vs output.

The choice I'm now plagued with is what do I want to focus my energy on. There are 3 options I'm rotating between & I'm not sure which I want to devote my time to.

I could go back to Mataro (RPG Maker), I could work on the larger BLVN project from fall, or I could focus on a shorter BLVN project.

I choose love over hate.
And bigger love when love comes.

If I'm writing I usually listen to instrumental music like video game tracks, or nature sounds. If I'm drawing I'll listen to either music or like a podcast/video that doesn't require my full attention! I def can't write if Words Are Happening, though.

All those Discord alternatives that y'all are trying to push (Stoat, Matrix, Fluxer, Root, etc.) will have to comply with this as well if we don't stop this.
