It sounds hand-wringingly lefty because it is a universal truth. There is always money for bombs and never money for desperate people

Fletcher travels the world pleading for pennies down the couch so people don’t starve to death. $6bn a year

The US just spent that in five days bombing Iran

Chart showing in many countries, people see their fellow citizens as morally good.

We asked people around the world to rate the morality and ethics of others in their country.

The U.S. is the only place we surveyed where more adults describe the morality and ethics of others living in the country as bad than good. See our full morality report here: www.pewresearch.org/...

U.S., Israel bomb multiple Iranian cities, Iran fires missile and drone barrage as war enters 5th day | CBC

idk what to tell people anymore. the goal isn't competitive balance. It's franchise values. And they want a salary cap because capping spending makes their franchises worth more because it artificially restricts their costs. That's the entire thing. If they could do that without parity, they would

I meant selling those statements (even if they are largely meaningless) to Canadian voters, who are increasingly hostile to everything to do with Trump.
Every time Carney says something flattering about Trump he uses up a little bit of political capital with a large chunk of the Canadian population

Probably a useful strategy, but gets tougher and tougher to sell as the US administration becomes more of a pariah state.

It's kind of annoying, but I think part of Carney's strategy is in statements and such he'll offer one little line that's meant simply to stoke Trump's ego, but then not do a damn thing to act on it. That might be what he did with the Iran statement. Or maybe I'm just being wishful

America has spent a year claiming Iran had no nuclear capacity and then weeks ago claimed Iran would have a nuclear weapon in days. Then they began peace negotiations but scrubbed them for no reason and bombed Iran.

This is a month after illegally decapitating the government of Venezuela.

Donald Trump pledged to keep America out of foreign wars but like most statements he makes it was a lie.
Yes, the Iranian regime is horrible, and the Iranian people deserve to live freely. However, it doesn't justify our nation going to war, especially when the only reason the Iranian government may have a nuclear program is because Trump ripped up the prior multilateral agreement without an alternative to prevent a nuclear Iran.
Haven't we learned our lessons of trying to fight a war in the Middle East after Iraq and Afghanistan? What if the Iranian regime is still in power after these bombings? Will he send troops to fight a ground war without a Congressional authorization?
This is why our founders placed the power to declare war in Congress, not the presidency. No member of the US military should set foot in Iran without a Congressional declaration.
