Inside the Department of War are two wolves:

"We've shut down the Colleges of War because book learnings are woke, gay, and irrelevant to war fighting."

"How come no one told us the Strait is important, there are different kinds of Kurds, Iran is big, and air power historically doesn't win wars?"

I don't think anyone has thought this war through. If Dubai collapses, our countries are going to be flooded by influencers, tax dodgers, and fucking idiots.

It is easy now to forget that George W. Bush had a white-knuckled stranglehold on the title of worst United States president in history. It was like Wilt Chamberlain's 100 point game at the time. No one ever thought it would be possible to even come close, let alone beat it.

The emerging cases of AI psychosis have shown that all it takes to drive some people completely insane is to put them in contact with a sycophantic chatbot who always agrees with them.

Now, what does that tell us about billionaire CEOs surrounded by sycophantic people who always agree with them?

‘The law changed around me’: top Sudanese students blocked from UK universities by visa ban [FREE TO READ] High-achieving applicants’ educational plans derailed by ‘emergency visa brake’

I'm trying to think who this idiocy is for, who would say: I wasn't going to vote Labour but now they've blocked a clearly exceptionally bright Sudanese woman from doing a postgraduate course in computational biology at Cambridge, I'm all in?

Turns out net zero is cheaper than a single fossil fuel crisis. 🤷

The sooner we build on clean, home-grown energy, the sooner we stop handing the keys to foreign gas markets. But we also need market reform now - so customers, not just corporations, actually reap the benefits of renewables.

Narratively having Ever Given getting stuck in 2021 to set up Hormuz in 2026 is great foreshadowing. You want your audience to understand the basics of international shipping in a lower stakes context so you drop the real plot without a lot of saggy exposition about the minutiae of cargo logistics.

I'm not a geopolitical expert, but several of those who are appear to agree that Iran has a strong interest in dragging this out in order to make it such a costly fuckup that neither the US nor any other western power considers this option ever again.

The primary advantage of the British political system over the American one is how much easier it is to remove a shit leader. When Truss crashed the economy she was gone within weeks. The poor Americans are stuck with Trump until 2028 no matter how much he fucks things up.

Reaching net zero by 2050 ‘cheaper for UK than one fossil fuel crisis’ Climate change committee finds move to renewable energy would also bring health, economic and security benefits

Our dependency on fossil fuels makes us vulnerable. Wars across the world are pushing up prices for households in the UK.

Why keep waiting for the next crisis? We need to transition to clean power as fast as we can to protect people and our economy.

Yeah we are doing the oil crisis

Spend the day talking to workers council members about "AI". Management is 100% in fantasy "AI" land and makes huge plans for how to use "AI" to cut workers when real projects that supposedly can do 50% of a specific task end up being able to do 8%. And they still go live.

5/ And on the Strait of Hormuz, they had NO PLAN. I can't go into more detail about how Iran gums up the Strait, but suffice it say, right now, they don't know how to get it safely back open.

Which is unforgiveable, because this part of the disaster was 100% foreseeable.

What Nigel Farage and Reform UK ignore about net zero ⬇️

🚨 Reaching the UK’s net zero target by 2050 will cost less than a single oil shock.

💰 And it will bring health, economic and security benefits.

Colbert's bit not boot

I look forward to Colbert's boot on them, but regardless, there would have to be padding so that they don't just fall off? Or glue.

When I said 'Kemi Badenoch is so partisan, under her the Tories would oppose puppies and kittens if Labour said something nice about them', I didn't mean it literally.

is there a trick to wearing those oversize shoes e.g. Foam padding at the heel? Insoles and 3 pairs of socks? Glue?
I world be worried about them just falling off as I walked.
