as someone unfamiliar with autechre, i was at first impressed by parish's control on eliminating reverb and getting this very technologically dry sound that suits (i imagine) the subject matter, but then was kind of bored by it. i picked up his earlier album and found it more sonically substantive
kind of fascinating, tho. the aesthetic is more off-brand computer game than arcade to my eyes. big sega cd energy

Biggest issue with researching Rap music, releases, events, etc. is a severe lack of access to archives of old Rap publications like Dance Music Report, Hip Hop Hit List, The Source, Rap Pages, Ego Trip, On The Go, Stress, etc. plus episodes of "Yo! MTV Raps", "Rap City", "Pump It Up", etc.
