Dynamax Lugia is coming this weekend and spoiler alert: the lead up research gives you a great counter in Gengar. Lugia's coverage move Hydro Pump is generally the most dangerous Single Target move, so reroll (completely exit the spot and re-enter) that if you're having trouble.

Pokemon Go Gigantamax Garbador Counter Infographic - practically every Pokemon SHOULD be able to tank it, but some are really efficient, but the simple answer is a Mud Shot Excadrill does it all. (Metal Claw does ~60% the damage, but if you're in a large group, I guess save the Fast TM?)

3/ Metagross, who in turn, is more efficient than... and finally, if you are TRULY going above and beyond to min-max, these guides are not for you. As an example, re-rolling Duraludon to have Dragon Claw as its single target move, and tanking that with Zacian, might be a better "burn down" strategy.

2/ First, quick caveat - Alakazam requires an Elite Fast TM that I really can't recommend, but I'm including it for thoroughness's sake. Secondly, we've improved our methodology and this is the first time our tank recommendations are a pure ordered list. That is, Zamazenta is more efficient than...

1/ Dynamax Duraludon Pokemon Go counter infographic - For a week teams of 4 will be able to take on this steel dragon. From a meta perspective, the hero dogs don't leave even the presumably future Gmax Archaludon room, but there are niches and it doesn't require energy for newcomers.

2/ Zacian at milestone 3 was the strongest - or close enough - attacker, and Eternatus's level was tweaked low enough that most Pokemon managed fairly enough against it, coupled with the unlocking of "large" lobbies from 40 to now 100, the the beast fell fairly quickly for organized groups.

A Pokemon Go counter infographic for Eternamax Eternatus. It lists 5 possible attacks, with multiple instances of Dynamax Cannon marked over with question marks. Only 2 of the 5 attacks are named, the three unnamed are dragon, poison, and fire iconography, the named are normal Hyper Beam an dragon Dynamax Cannon.
It lists Crowned Forme Zacian and Zamazenta as tank options, both with the fast move Metal Claw, and as second tier options, Metagross with Fury Cutter, Corviknight with Sand Attack, Omastar with water or ground, and Kabutops with bug or ground. Attackers, in order, are Latios, Metagross, Excadril, Hatterene, Latias, Lapras, Gengar, Zacian, Kingler, and Articuno. Metagross and Hatterene are marked as Psychic, Excadril and Kingler are marked as Ground, Zacian as Steel. All others are unmarked.
1/ Apparently, I never posted the actual Pokemon Go Max Out Finale Eternatus counter guide. Posting it for posterity. At the time, it wasn't clear whether Dynamax Cannon would be a possible move (it was!), and there was a week long pass that, if you hit up to 3 milestones, boosted "the dogs."

The Max Out Finale! event in Pokemon Go has a buffet of events. I've prepared a "one pager" "Quick Reference Guide" for counters that is a little less detailed and is intended for on-the-go quick checks the day-of. I hope to have a graphic available for Eternatus soon! - Please "like" if these help!

Gigantamax Butterfree Counter Infographic for August 3rd, from 2PM to 5PM. Enjoy! (Yes, almost everything is a viable 2 max move defender, just make sure you have a 0.5s fast move!)

And the Eon Duo is confirmed in PoGo for end of July. Here's your Dynamax Latios and Latias Max Battle Counter Infographic (draft) - nb, Latias and Lapras are under my usual 70% of best threshold, Metagross-Bug is right there, too, but it's slim options this time around:

The July 19th Gigantamax Lapras Counter Infographic has been updated! I missed the Urshifu forms -as fighting attackers-, and Metagross as a Fury Cutter tank. Next to the not-dogs in the defender list are bar charts for Lapras's move pool as Single Target attacks against them. Happy catching!

Gigantamax Inteleon Max Battle Counter Infographic for all your battling needs for this Father's Day weekend in Pokemon Go. Attackers are, as always, ordered from left-best to right-still fine. I'm mid-reworking a few things with tanks (do we like the charts?). Let me know in replies if these help!

Following Gigantamax Rillaboom, for PokeMon Go on June 7th and June 8th here's your Gigantamax Cinderace Max Battle Counter Infographic! Unfortunately, Focus Blast is going to be very brutal on the potential Defender options. It can be worked around with a "sacrificial lead." Good luck!

Hey, this is super rushed but short notice so here's an early guide for Pokemon Go's latest announcement, Gigantamax Rillaboom at the end of May! It's very rough and I hate the background, but the info is there to give you time to build!!!

TSR mods issuing bans for... saying toxic behavior is rude?
To highlight, it's "could" build counters. Lots of respect for anyone going through something, kids, newcomers, so on. But some folks?...
It's a shame so many content creators are associated with a community that supports toxicity.

A revised draft that incorporates some feedback I've received. Note the defenders with a move in the upper left can't tank if that move (if unnamed, there's only one of that type) is the single target move. Reroll and go!

First draft of a Dynamax Suicune counter guide (stay tuned for corrections!).
Willing to re-roll away from one move?
Venusaur and Rillaboom (Scratch) can tank without Ice Beam.
Raikou tanks without Hydro Pump.
Blissey if Pump spammed is in trouble. Unlikely but...

For your future G-Maxing interests, consider farming Applins during this event with a mega grass or dragon running.
Suicune has been announced and I'll post a graphic soon, but Everybody Loves Blastoise and g-Toxtricity is about it.
Speaking of... a quick explanation of my Entei counter list:

Slightly updated Entei counter guide, this time with the move set threats included, and indicating one may want a "sacrifice lead" - a pokemon whose only job it is, is to have a 0.5 fast move and possibly take a hit before that first dynamax phase.

Dynamax Entei counter guide. I forgot the risky movies (Fire Blast, Overheat - fire, Scorching Sands - ground) and some will recommend Blissey as a tank. I don't, but a "sacrifice" lead tank may be useful. 3 * guard 3 for each of these tanks can handle anything, and many moves through 1st enrage.

Thanks to the sharp eyes at TSR, a few small adjustments to Gigantamax Snorlax - dMax DARK Gengar; a few attackers slightly re-ordered (probably irrelevant to most trainers). Also, I've placed dMax Machamp with just Max Attack 2, for anyone saving XLs but spending candy. Happy catching!

Hey! I skipped putting together a graphic for Raikou, since ... it's Excadrill. The answer was Excadrill. Anyway, who is excite for Gigantamax Snorlax? I don't think he has a place in the meta, but it'll be fun getting together to collect a few, anyway! Here's a FIRST DRAFT counter guide:
