2025 Broken Arrow Sky Race 18k runner (Brettsuzo) at the Red Dog Ridge section of the race. Just before this photo was taken, the narrow ridge and gusting winds (up to 80 mph) caused quite a bit of a backup as runners waited to muster up enough courage to cross when there was a break in the wind.

In training for this race for the past 12-13 months I lost about 30 pounds and re-discovered how powerful consistent training can be. I'm doing 4-5 runs per week now and am the fastest/fittest I've been in my adult life. Highly motivated to keep that trend going and see how far I can take it.

Celebrated my 40th birthday this month. Capped it off by completing my first trail run race up in Tahoe this past weekend with some friends. A crazy windy day forced a change to the planned route but the race was still super fun!

The DII XC national championship race was in town today. I took babysuzo with me to check it out despite the soaking wet course and rainy conditions. XC races still rule and we had a blast running back and forth to follow the racers
