Youβre never too woke btw. Stop saying that.
Vocatwt is so awful and rude these days. Multiple people openly shitting on the miku expo winner and saying theyβre gonna cancel their tickets over it. Shameful. Keep any unkind thoughts to yourself and move on.
Probably gonna get scared again and delete these within the next 24 hours ngl (I love having anxiety btw)
A colorless pencil sketch of Ruby in her Maghni AI outfit, her hands are in the pockets of her jacket as she looks at the viewer, mildly annoyed
Another sketch of Ruby. Her jacket is removed and sheβs sitting on the ground, staring off to the side.
Is it okay if I post my Rvby sketches
Why I flip my shit thereβs nobody here
Nobody saw that did they. I used direct character and franchise names. Was the newest post for all 6 hours. Dude Iβm gonna puke.
Find out way too late that Alt text gets included in keyword searches Iβm gonna ____ ______
Yknow sometimes I think about posting my art publicly again on a smaller less hostile platform like this but anxiety and fear from past fandom experiences always win out. Shame because l do want to contribute to this community I love, but people are scary what if they're judging me? qοΎ(οΎΒ΄Πο½οΎ)οΎο½‘
Ultimately there are bigger things to worry about regarding m/ghni than the pronouns of a character that may never get released. This is a very minor complaint and I donβt think any more attention should be put on it.
I feel like itβs important to mention that the community also misgendered this character en-masse, especially in 2016 during the Ausgr/s era. I think one of the most popular Ausgr/s blogs just straight up made them a cis man. This is a general problem and not specific to the devs.
Informal discord interview on Christmas 2020, this is her direct statement from a transcript. This was before the misgendering started and before their pronouns were officially changed to they/he (assumedly out of convenience), so the sentiment was always there on some level.
Oof, really hoping thatβs not actually the VP or that theyβve changed if they because fuuuck thatβs bad π
(Then again the official Oliver account is following a sh/tacon and I think has RTβd that content a few times? And replied to a mildly suspicious ask on tumblr. Might be accidental idk)
Wait what I wasnβt aware of that? I managed to (possibly) find the identity of one of the other VPs but not that one what the hell
What did they do exactly?
Not doing research on artists seems to be a reoccurring problem, at least with VT. They featured st3ampianist in the Oliver 10th anniversary video and itβs like well known that heβs racist and has a Nazi uniform. And I think Oliver__China is run by a sh/tacon? So this might not be a one-time thing.
So in that case, the fault would at least partially fall on the devs for not making themselves aware of this and then getting upset when he did it? Because why would they commission someone who openly uses free beats and expect him to not use a free beat.
What likely happened was poor communication. Devs werenβt clear about the terms of the commission and l/ppy wasnβt open with them either. I want to say public opinion was against l/ppy? But idk, itβs all been buried/deleted. This is the only tweet I was able to archive. Make of it what you will.
An alarmingly public scuffle between l/ppy and the devs followed. The devs claimed that he lied and that he wasnβt actually a producer, meanwhile l/ppy took down the song and said he didnβt break any rules.
Ah the l(a)ppy incident. The whole thing happened very fast and I couldnβt archive most of it, so Iβll be going off of memory here.
The devs commissioned a producer named l/ppy to make Audineβs demo Answer Book. They found out months later that he used a free beat for the song.
It was specifically N/talia that said Aurumβs nonbinary label was βlimitingβ which I find odd? The misgendering only started becoming more prevalent after Saros and Nyl were released and theyβre doing just fine aside from some wiki vandalism. So idk why it became a thing with the non-VT devs.
Lack of information regarding vocalists might just be an NDA thing, like theyβre working on other vocalists but canβt talk about it, especially if it regards 3rd parties. Though that doesnβt explain everything, communication problems seem to be a reoccurring issue judging by the l/ppy situation.
I want to see M/ghni succeed, I really do. But the devs need to be more open and address peopleβs concerns wherever possible if they want to keep the communityβs trust. And open discussion is the best way to go about it. I just wish everyone else could see that.
Criticism and community input are needed in projects like this, just blindly supporting the devs wonβt do any good. I was scared to bring up my concerns until now because of potential blowback (and those concerns were unfortunately validated).
The devs shouldnβt be crucified or anything, they just need to have better communication instead of vague statements between months of silence. Despite what others have said, they DO owe it to the backers. This was 40k of other peopleβs money, thatβs not a small amount.
Like I said towards the end, I really donβt think the devs are bad people. βScamβ is a strong word and implies malicious intent, which isnβt present in anything Iβve seen. This seems a lot more like a group of people who bit off more than they could chew and are too far into things to back out.
My goal was not to harass the devs. Notice that I donβt ask why itβs taking so long or whoβs responsible, just what I think are reasonable concerns and questions that should be addressed. I was a little angry at points, but a bit of frustration is warranted in my opinion.
This was my thread, I locked my account due to harassment concerns along with the whole situation sending me into an anxiety attack that Iβm still recovering from. Also apparently the person I quoted has been involved in other drama and I didnβt want to get roped into that. Thread here.
