My guess is the English commentary feed is glitchy and it's a low priority in the production truck.

Last Supper AU where Jesus says "I have something important to say! One of you will betray me...unless I get to you first!" and then he lays out four of his apostles and replaces them with Lance Archer.

My favorite scene from Transformers is the one where everyone is shooting Bruticus in the dick but he doesn’t care

I find it fun, but that's mainly because I don't ever expect to get within ten feet of him. I wouldn't want to get anywhere near Darby Allin either--just seems like the type to start a knife fight with someone like Gabe. A lot of wrestlers give me that vibe tbh.

Saw someone mention Pacific Rim the other day, which reminded me that sometimes B's "just trust me bro" movies turn out to be great! On the whole I'd rather take my chances than not.

A few days ago I saw someone pitch that MJF should let Kevin Knight beat him for the world title, to force Hangman to fight his buddy in the Texas death match, which would somehow prove Hangman is a hypocrite, which is somehow more important to Max than being the champion.

Very exciting to be assured that AEW will never hire Road Dogg, according to this, the website that definitely knew AEW would never hire Andrade, Ciampa, and the Iinspiration.

It's all well and good to let Yota Tsuji and Callum Newman do worky-shooty complaints about AEW, but it's all just hot air when most of the roster can't even outwit House of Torture. Maybe work on that first.

The only way New Japan can meaningfully address the problem is to keep recruiting new talent to push as established stars leave or get old. They do this. It just doesn't feel like it's working because most of the new stars get "pushed" by being sad about losing all the time.

05.03.2026 19:38 πŸ‘ 7 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

The idea that New Japan should magically have the money to pay top stars to stay forever is absurd. Everybody has to go away one way or another. AJ Styles is never coming back but neither is Tanahashi. Turnover and rebuilding years are unavoidable.

05.03.2026 19:38 πŸ‘ 7 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

The angst about New Japan talent leaving for AEW is pointless. Their working relationship is not causing the migration, and is not a problem to be solved. The US is a higher paying market, it has been for years, and it probably will be for years.

Like, Cody and Punk *feel* like sellouts because at times they each leaned into being anti-WWE. But it's clear now they don't actually care, and will carry whatever flag is convenient at the moment. You can't sell out your principles if you're too carny to actually have any.

04.03.2026 20:40 πŸ‘ 7 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Saying someone "sold out" implies they adhered to some important principle until someone paid them enough to betray that principle. I don't think this applies much in pro wrestling, where the career goal is to be a star and make as much money as possible.

Really feels like they lack confidence that the audience can understand the GL premise, as if millions of people didn't watch a movie last year featuring Guy Gardner.

The best guide would just be 1) Watch this week's TV, 2) if something is confusing, ask questions on social media.

The problem is getting new fans to really believe it's that simple.

04.03.2026 18:17 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

I think some established fans have this notion that their friends need to experience, for example, Hangman vs. Swerve exactly the same way they did in 2023. But it would never be the same experience for new fans in 2026. It'd be like me expecting every WWE fan to start with Hogan vs. Warrior in 1990

04.03.2026 18:00 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

Agreed. Each episode of a weekly wrestling TV show is designed to help you understand the ongoing storylines and rules. AEW may not hold your hand every week, but they know every show is someone's first, and they want that someone to stick around and buy something.

04.03.2026 17:54 πŸ‘ 2 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 1 πŸ“Œ 0

Then your chance drastly go down, because Kurt Angle KNOWS he can't beat me, and he's not even gonna TRY

04.03.2026 01:59 πŸ‘ 10 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

That's probably the easiest way to weasel out of it, but it'd be even simpler to not weasel into it in the first place. If they don't actually want to ban Hangman from world title shots, they could just...have him beat MJF. I don't understand why everyone is acting like that isn't an option.

03.03.2026 23:23 πŸ‘ 3 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 2 πŸ“Œ 0

This is a long reach just to get to a future storyline where Page alienates the fans by breaking his word so Max can alienate the fans by gloating "I told you so, back in 2025." If the point of the story was "everybody should have listened to MJF," I don't think this is how they would tell it.

03.03.2026 21:26 πŸ‘ 1 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

It's Hangman giving his word in an agreement with MJF, who isn't the type of character who will simply take him at his word. If Max isn't getting this written into an ironclad contract with no loopholes, he's a bigger fool than Page for proposing the stip in the first place.

Yeah, the chicken joke dates back to at least 1847, long before "crossing the road" would've been closely associated with "easy way to get yourself killed by oncoming traffic."

03.03.2026 21:07 πŸ‘ 7 πŸ” 0 πŸ’¬ 0 πŸ“Œ 0

To be clear, I'm an AEW guy and I don't root for *anybody* to go to WWE. But I'm realistic that it's always going to be an attractive option to sign there and not do anything fans want to see you do. The wrestlers will always have career priorities that come ahead of "making their fans happy."
