It wouldn’t be someone currently in politics. It would have to be someone with a preexisting source of fame outside of politics like Trump had.
For whatever reason lots of people don’t put “AI” in the science/tech bucket in their brains, they put it in the religion/mysticism bucket. So all of the usual fear and cautiousness they show towards science/tech doesn’t show up.
The question becomes will the new figure have the same sort of inscrutable juice Trump has (or once had)
The thing is conservatives, being hierarchical by nature, *hate* being in that state more than anything, so they will reconsolidate around a central figure faster than you’d think given how much they all hate one another.
They don’t know what they don’t know, and they don’t know a lot.
The lust people have to argue online is in itself a weird bubble. I don’t wake up hoping to have arguments with people, I wake up with the idea that I’m probably going to talk about sports or movies & say weird shit and sometimes arguments arise but usually from annoying assholes, it’s not a virtue

I’m so tired of seeing people bash Bluesky for being an echo chamber when X is an actual intentionally constructed echo chamber that is demonstrably radicalizing people across the political spectrum who still use it
Powers that be decided that it simply cannot be talked about, because if they talked about it it would lead to questions like “Why is this motherfucker still here making decisions that impact every person on the planet?” that they’d rather not have to answer.
