Summited Kilimanjaro two weeks ago. Was as hard and fun as you would imagine.

I took a picture of the moon with a halo. I was standing next to a campfire in a remote desert campsite at nearly midnight.

I feel the FAFO is and will continue to happen, but this particular case isn’t as laden with schadenfreude as some may hope for.

Palomar Mountain got some snow Sunday evening, according to their webcam.

Another example of: Sometimes you don’t swim in the lake. The snow was tinted red by the sands of Africa.

I am excited to dip into season 2 of this and Silo.

I’ve been stuck indoors a lot lately, but I am fortunate enough to have a ton of great memories. This one is from a few years back when I went backpacking with a friend in the local mountains.

This morning’s sunrise in the desert was breathtaking. It was also quite windy, which rattled the tent for most of the early morning.

This is our dog. After removing a grapefruit-sized growth in his gut in August, he’s thriving now. His name is Isaac. He’s acting like a puppy again and we rescued him from a shelter in 2014.

No question: Gates of the Arctic NP, was going to go there this summer, but I may have to delay it a year. I have a couple of routes mapped out. It’s about as remote as you can get.

I saw pictures of those while researching. We had shiny new canoes and paddles!

It was another great day in the desert. I attempted to get to Jacumba Mountain, the LONG way, but I ran out of daylight. It was still a fantastic day of off-trail ridgeline hiking.

I just went backpacking with Tip this weekend. My daughter adores him, too.

Yes, that was from Katiffik to the Canoe Center. We found them about 4 miles from Katiffik and paddled 5 miles until the wind picked up and the waves got big.

I’ve also scouted routes in Scandinavia, Newfoundland, and Baffin Island. Luckily, I get recs from a friend that’s been almost everywhere.

For real. I’ve been on many trips since, but this one has staying power. We’re hoping for an Alaska trip that might compete, but, I agree, there’s something magical about Greenland.

I know where each of these were taken. They never get old.
