Something about the sheer discontent in the first page, like she knows what denji’s saying isn’t right but feels too much self-doubt to speak against her hero. There’s a reason why her final interaction with yoru is getting her other half’s permission to be selfish.
The future is unpredictable I know, but panels like this make me believe that Asa will intervene somehow in the next chapter

I just think now that it’s happening in real time people are (justifiably) nervous about where fujimoto is gonna take it. It’s hard to keep up with all the setup threads from previous chapters so if you’re reading weekly without looking back the vision might not be clear
Keep in mind Denji hadn’t eaten lil d yet here so he 1. forgot about the sex deal he made with yoru and 2. Hadn’t fulfilled those conditions yet, his priorities changed after those things happened
Believe me when I say denji’s ass is not getting saved if asa needs a weapon
Turn your powerscaling brains on. If Denji man and yoru both struggled with the locust devil, they probably aren’t strong enough to run the bug gauntlet next chapter. If that’s the case, they will need an immensely powerful weapon to face them. If yoru can’t conjure up the guilt to make 1, who can?
That’s a lot of responsibility, the only one I could trust to shoulder that burden is Bay Area fumiko
It feels more like a statement of how hard Denji is leaning into the sex cope, he NEVER considered doing this with power the way he’s considering it right now, he’s not the same guy he was in part 1
