One of my biggest animation influences is early 2000's web animation and most of it certainly wasn't "Disney quality". Part of the charm and appeal of those cartoons imo was that anybody, regardless of their budget or skill level, could make their ideas into a short film.

Imagine not spending your last days resting with family so that you can keep taking health care and basic rights away from people.

When Disney bought Fox a decade ago people joked about how the Alien Queen was now a Disney princess. It was a lighthearted way of coping with the ever-increasing consolidation in media + utter absence of monopoly enforcement.

My ability to have a lighthearted reaction to this shit is long gone.
