Danish media certainly seems to think so! Especially when the right wing parties right out the gate are discussing quantities of “Muslim immigrants” citat Messerschmidt - I’ll be generous and say it’s about more than that, and I hope it will be for S.
That "Danish Model" he went for is paying off in Denmark too, latest polls:

With a Greenland that is more confident in its path to self-determination. Trump has managed to cool Danish-American relations while inadvertently warming Danish-Greenlandic ties.
Yet we can affirm that while perhaps the US does not want Greenland, Trump wants Greenland. Except what he has recieved for the moment is a Denmark that is more invested in its Arctic territory than ever, and more reconciliatory towards its colonial past than ever.
In 2025, an American president is attempting something similar and discovering that Greenland now has the agency, and Denmark the political will, to say no. In 2021, Secretary of State Antony Blinken had explicitly confirmed that the US was "no longer interested in purchasing Greenland."
The historical irony is considerable. In 1941, the United States occupied Greenland while Denmark was under Nazi control, treating the island as a strategic asset to be managed between great powers.
Denmark and Greenland are issuing joint statements. European allies are conducting Arctic military exercises in Greenlandic territory. And polling suggests that 85% of the island's population opposes the acquisition that Trump insists is essential.
Today, on the 24th of December, the situation is as follows: Greenland remains within the Danish realm. Trump has appointed a special envoy, the Governor of Louisiana, whose stated mission is making Greenland American.
So, I have been working on a paper regarding Trump's effect on Danish-Greenlandic relations using the media landscape. I've written up a little text about what he said two days ago. Happy holidays folks

As far as I can understand, the funding behind "Patriot Polling" is not disclosed anywhere. They didn't provide any way of certifying that the phone numbers they had belonged to Greenlanders, only that they received 416 responses from +299 phone numbers.
At the University of California, the Office of the President (UCOP) disclosed last week the personal and demographic information of over 850 UC faculty members after being subpoenaed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) as part of its investigation of antisemitism at UC campuses. The faculty who received these notices from UCOP were signatories of two letters addressed to university leadership. The first was an open letter to the UC Berkeley community expressing concern about “recent events in Israel and Gaza.” The second was a separate, multi-campus petition to the Regents accusing UC administrators of fomenting antisemitic hostilities toward Jewish faculty and students by not cracking down on pro-Palestinian protests.
The University of California is actively cooperating with the government witch hunt against some 850 faculty members.

I find it odd that their first-ever survey outside of the US was in Greenland and that this survey reaches conclusions opposite to the Danish and Greenlandic polls and the March election results.
