FYI for fellow narrative designers/game writers: the studio in question is Sentona Games and it’s my understanding they are currently interviewing to replace me. Be very careful with them. They were very nice to me and easy to work with right up until I needed the money I was promised.

When I do portfolio reviews the biggest thing I push is to notice when you’re just spending time at a desk doing nothing but there cos you feel you must be working. Burn out is so easily done by putting far too much time and pressure on your self thinking it’s all needed when slows you down.

I say this with all the love in my heart because Blue Prince is incredible - working 80 hours a week for 8 years very likely made this game take longer to make than without crunch.

More time spent working does not always equate to making forward progress. Crunch often equates to negative progress.
