It would be easy for liberal-minded people to assume the latter in terms of how those passages read. But I’m thinking there’s a sowing/reaping dynamic at play rather than mere intervention. So divine wrath isn’t so much God lashing out in anger as a consequential reaping of what’s been sown.

During my time on Facebook, I tried to practice an open, digital version of what 17th c humanists called a "commonplace book". This is why I would frequently post quotations and invite conversation.
