Picture of wine list from one of restaurants in WrocΕaw (Poland) with added Vivino rating.
They should introduce a "bad idea" or "don't you dare!" selection.
Arrived at London for Pinot Noir Conference at Oxford. Vibrant and
Colourful as always!
Does wine and crisps work together? Of course they do! Crisp - tasting with wine pairing. 5th edition - done β¨
On the snobism of βempoweringβ wine lovers. I donβt need to be wine confident and I certainly donβt need you make me βempoweredβ.

Notion of sommeliers as the only capable of honesty is an interesting approach. Would you mind to elaborate?
Be useful, provide aesthetic value. Write well.
Wine writing is ordinary. Good writing is extraordinary. Language is enough - no need for heroics. My response to my polemicists.

By taking the bus we get closer to our destination but not to the final address. So much for people not voting in elections due to a lack of candidates.

Delicious Vermouth made with Amarone.
When an American winery that you contact via email suddenly calls you, it means that the matter is getting serious.

I am very pleased to inform you that the Polish region βWzgΓ³rza Trzebnickieβ (Trzebnickie Hills) is in the final stages of receiving regional designation status for wine. This is a step toward Polandβs first official appellation.

Message from the U.S. Wine Trade Alliance (USWTA) regarding the looming 200% tariffs on wine from the European Union.
Iβm very curious to hear what American winemakers will tell me in a few days at ProWein after learning about the tariffs today. #tariffs #wine
I would love to have more opportunities to talk with the winemaker (or a winery representative) about their idea for the wine and how they see it on the market, rather than hearing yet another fruit salad description sprinkled with βobviously uniqueβterroir.
Iβm always a little bit surprised that Zweigelt doesnβt get more attention and recognition. Two 100% examples below from Philip Grassl. Both rather bold but still elegant expression. Black label is a single parcel, grey one is local village. Iβm curious of customers reactions and descriptions.
- What's most important when you choose wine?
- Company.
A little snippet from the focus-group data.
I bought it for 28 β¬ in small wineshop while rushing home. Choice was very broad but without hesitation gentlemen recommended me this bottle.
The 2016 Bordeaux vintage is drinking beautifully now (2025)! Thereβs plenty to dissect on the palate, yet it maintains a wonderfully comfortable overall impression. Blackcurrant, cherry, and cedar are nicely balanced with additional leathery notes.
Very enjoyable and safe recommendation!
Paris WineExposium 2025 observations incoming. Just arrived at windy and cold Bercy Village.
I can see that persuasion successfull most probably by example π
It is a challenge for sure but I think it can be done. Speaking as a merchant :)
Exciting news and opportunity!
I am delighted that that @winopijca.bsky.social and my paper on representations of pinot noir has been accepted at the first Pinot Noir Project symposium. I hope to make it to Oxford in July. That will be my first-ever wine-focused conference. Very excited.
Brilliant idea, so easy end effective to implement in practice of recommending wine. Both as a sommelier and merchant.
I shouldnβt have read that with my morning coffee. Now I donβt know what was more energizing!
One of THE best wines Iβve ever tried. (For sure best Malbec) outstanding complexity and balance
