Gutted by the loss to GB today, but well played to them, they hit some great shots and are pure class. We're back at it tomorrow against Italy and the stadium is going to be rocking π₯πΊπΈ

two curling stones literally bumping against the center, with an official pointing at the one that is imperceptibly closer
I've never seen two curling stones this close to the center! I think it was actually too close for them to bring out the measuring tool!
Like I said, excellent pair! Two fantastic shots for very different reasons!
Excellent pair from Matt Thums to give the USA a 3-2 lead through 3 ends. With no sweepers, playing draws on as wide a line as he had to go for his last can be a real challenge with frost and lack of rocks on the path.
Great discussion with the team on speed. Great execution.
If you're tuned into the USA-GBR game right now, you'll notice two players in the house for the United States for the first two throwers.
It is a setup that Sean O'Neill and Matt Thums have been working on together for months.
The wheelchair curlers of Team USA aim to continue the trend of strong international performances in Cortina with another successful run on their own at the Paralympic Winter Games.

The United States wheelchair curling team looks to continue the international success US teams have found over the last month.
To get there, they'll be relying on each other, coaches, and some of the curlers who competed at the Olympics.

One of five teams tied at 2-2 entering this draw of mixed doubles wheelchair curling at the Paralympics, every game is vital.
Korea is playing lights out against USA at the moment, leading 7-1 at the half. Dwyer and Emt will need to get something going with the power play.
Tune in to Peacock tomorrow at 3:05am eastern to watch Team USA Mixed Team Curling take on back-to-back gold medalists China live at the Paralympics! πΊπΈπ₯
Team USA Mixed Doubles with the huge win over Estonia to move to 2-1, great game from Laura and Steve! π₯πΊπΈ #TeamUSA
The Olympic boom is on now. It was a nearly ideal set of results for the Olympics in Cortina to bring in big crowds into curling clubs.
It is up to the clubs to turn prospective curlers into members.

1-0 for Team USA at the Paralympics.
Steve Emt rolls off the ice trying and failing to hit the high notes in Sia's Titanium.
"you're mic'd up"
"i know!" (high-pitched howling noises)
The USA hangs on! Laura Dwyer and Steve Emt steal 4 in the 8th end to take an 11-6 victory over Latvia in draw 1 of mixed doubles at the Paralympics!
In November, Emt told me about the breathing exercises they do between every end.

I asked Chris Plys back in September what young teams to watch this year.
He was spot on.

A WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BANNER WILL BE HUNG IN EAU CLAIRE, WISCONSIN!
USA has defeated Italy in the gold medal game at the World Junior Championships! The first world junior title for the United States since 2008!
Over seven years ago, 1998 Olympian Mike Peplinski had a dream to build a junior team based at his home club in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Now, that team is about to play for a world championship.

It was a wet week at the Bojangles Coliseum but there was no rain on the parade for Shuster and Strouse at USA nationals on Sunday night.
My national championship recap:

Tons of great growth from them. And they all are still eligible for juniors next year too iirc
What a game between USA and Korea.
Kang Bobae had been taken to a 10th end just two times all week. Down 1 with hammer, Kang makes the come around tap to take the win.
Great showing by Allory Johnson's rink. They'll play in the 3rd place game tomorrow.
It was an eventful week at the USA Curling National Championships, with one legendary rink picking up another title and another new rink breaking through.
Ben Hoppe (@hoppecurls) breaks it all down:

John Shuster wins the USA National Championship! In the final championship for Chris Plys and Colin Hufman, the sleeveless boys of Team Shuster go out on top. They'll be headed to Ogden, Utah for their swan song as Team USA.
The men's national championship is onto an extra end, and we're without sound on the stream.
For those critical of commentary during past national events, now is your chance to do it yourself and prove you're better than the ones on the mic.
Team Strouse is headed to Calgary! Delaney Strouse, Anne O'Hara, Sydney Mullaney, and Maddie Bear win the USA National Championship!
